Tips for keeping your CNC machine cool

Temperature, especially in the hot summer months, can have a significant impact on the performance of a CNC machine tool.
Elevated temperatures in the machine tool may lead to thermal distortion, which can result in a loss of shape and machining accuracy. This can lead to defective part dimensions, excessive downtime, and consequently reduced profits.
Here we share a few tips to keep your CNC machine cool:
1. Facility cooling: centralized HVAC systems or evaporative coolers or industrial fans are the most common cooling tools used in factories.
2. Regular maintenance: Following an organized routine maintenance program for CNC machine tools can help prevent temperature drift and keep fans on machines and equipment clean and maintained.
3. Use of cooling media during machining:There are 4 main types of media that can be used to cool tools and workpieces during machining: 1. Air (by jet or airflow) 2. Atomization 3. Water cooling 4. High pressure jetting

4. Removal of chips from the machine: it is important to ensure that an effective method of chip removal is used. The use of high pressure cooling with air or liquids, coupled with conveyor belts for automatic chip removal, is a great way to keep the temperature of your CNC machine tool under control.
