Anodizing: Anodizing transforms a metal surface into a durable, decorative, corrosion-resistant anodized surface through an electrochemical process. Aluminum and other non-ferrous metals such as magnesium and titanium are well suited for anodizing.
Chemical Film: Chemical conversion coatings (also known as chromate coatings, chemical films, or yellow chromate coatings) apply chromate to metal workpieces by dipping, spraying, or brushing. Chemical films create a durable, corrosion-resistant, conductive surface.
Anodizing is commonly used for commercial and residential construction projects, such as coating aluminum windows and door frames. It is also used to coat furniture, appliances and jewelry. On the other hand, chemical films are used in a wide range of applications – from shock absorbers to specialty applications such as airplane fuselages.
